3 Ways to Save Money on Healthy Hair Care

Are you on a budget or looking for ways to reduce the amount of money spent on your hair? Taking care of your hair does not need to cost you an arm and leg. So many of us believe that the more money you spend on something, the better value you are receiving. But generally speaking, that does not apply to hair care. So if you're looking for ways to save some cash, keep on reading.

1.) Minimize or Eliminate Salon Visits-  If you're visiting a salon frequently, costs can add up quickly. Try to cut back on your visits or eliminate them all together. I remember when I was relaxing
my hair, I would visit the salon every 8 weeks for a touch up and bi-weekly for a wash & set. That would cost about $200 every 2 months before tip. So to save some money, I first stopped getting wash & sets and only went in for relaxer touch-ups. I went on Youtube and read blogs to learn how to roller-set my own hair then I moved on to heatless setting such as braid, bantu-knot and twist outs.
Becoming a do-it-yourselfer is the most cost friendly option, but not everyone can do that. There are hair schools you can visit at a lower rate, at home stylist(non-chemical styling) or even have a friend/family member style your hair(at a discounted rate or for free..maybe lol).

2.) Dilute Your Products- Some hair products are very concentrated. Various Sulfate Shampoos, for example, can strip our hair of all of it's natural oils causing it to be dry. To help combat that and to save some bucks, you can dilute the shampoo in an applicator bottle with water. It will still get your hair clean, will be easier to wash out(natural hair) and will make the shampoo last much longer.
When it comes to moisturizer and (deep)conditioner, you can lightly spritz your hair with water before applying. This will also help minimize the amount of products used.

3.) Sales or Online Shopping- Retail stores such as Walgreens, CVS, Family Dollar, Sally Beauty Supply and Rite Aid are always having sales on hair products, especially BOGO sales. Even grocery stores such as Stop & Shop consistently have hair products on sale.  Maybe you can hold off on buying products until a sale comes around. Some hair companies announce upcoming sales on their Social Media pages or you can check out the ads from the retailers. If you can't wait for the sale, look for some deals online. Websites such as Amazon and Ebay have reputable sellers that sell quality products at a lower cost. Just make sure you check reviews before purchasing.
