The Twists are Back

It took me 4 hours to do the twists this time mainly because I made the back twists larger then before.
I will keep these in for 2 weeks then I think I may do some cornrows next.
All down # Fail

Pinned to the side- now this is better!

I experienced some breakage last week...nothing too excessive, but enough to alarm me. I would see short broken hairs like every day and it just freaked me out so I told myself that I would stay in protective styles until the end of the year. Now twists aren't a protective style unless the ends are tucked away...so I'll probably bun them during the week.

*Don't mind the super shiny face/forehead

Do you mind sharing what products you use on your twists? I'm also relaxed and prefer not to wear my hair super straight, I love the textured look. I've tried twisting, but I haven't found the right combination of products to keep them to stay. Thanks

  3. @ Maya- Thank you!! :-D

I have done twists 3x now and used different products each time.
The first time, I used a mix of Shea-butter and Aloe Vera Gel which gave me great hold.
Second time, I used Giovanni Direct Leave-in which worked great.
This time I used a thick creamy moisturizer (African Pride Oil Moisturizer).
My biggest tip when doing twists on relaxed hair is before hand you should air-dry in braids. That way you have more texture to work with. I also twirl the ends of each twists around my finger to make sure they don't unravel.
